The Library Director has the initial responsibility for organizing the library's
response to an emergency. In the absence of the Library Director, responsibility
lies with the other librarians on duty in the order established by the Director.
Each staff member should be acquainted with emergency procedures and should know
how to begin coping without having to refer to the procedures manual.
