The Friends of Stinson Library, Book in Every Home Project, has completed another goal. Twelve books were donated to Anna Rural Health and 18 books were donated to Swafford Pediatrics in Anna. These books will be given to new mothers.

Since the Book in Every Home Project began in December 2003 with 290 books donated to Anna Lincoln School, 100 books to Anna Head Start and in February 2004 230 books to Anna School District 37 a total of 650 books donated. The Friends of Stinson Library are proud of this achievement and thank the community for their support.

Stinson Library and the Friends of Stinson Library extend a thank you to The Gazette Democrat, Anna State Bank, Jonesboro First National Bank, WIBH Radio, Southern Illinoisan and participating businesses for the advertising of the May 1 book and bake sale. Also, our appreciation to those that volunteered and donated books and bake items.

The latest bestsellers available at the library include "The Last Juror" by John Grisham, "Therapy" by Jonathan Kellerman, "3rd Degree" by James Patterson and "Three Weeks with My Brother" by Nicholas Sparks.

The Friends of Stinson plan to meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 at the library. Topics on the June 1 agenda include updating the children's library, adding new books to the library, contributing to the landscaping project, creating an online newsletter, Anna sesquicentennial in July, Stinson Library 90th anniversary in August and October Colorfest.
