The Shawnee Library System is a multitype system including school districts, public libraries, special libraries, and academic libraries. This diversity of members brings a rich and full body of experience from which all members benefit. Shawnee is a regional library system, funded through the office of the Illinois Secretary of State, covering 12,719 square miles in 32 counties in southern Illinois with a population base of 645,365.
