Kaleidoscope

Fragments of recall
are a reflection
of our lives;
remnants, when
viewed in the light of today
beautifully display
a kaleidoscope
of memories.
 
Exhilarated days
of vivid delight
stand out
from the cutting edge
of broken hearted times
to form
a fragile mingling
of past and present.


Ever-changing
days and years
turn the wheel,
create a drab smudge here,
a brilliant stroke there,
and paint
a lifetime
of contrast
in exquisite design,

The past and present
fit together perfectly,
like us.
The future,
each day another segment,
will blend
its distinctive hue
into our collage
